Booking, Consent and Practice Information

Key information about fees, cancellations, referrals, consent, and professional practice standards.

  • Services are provided in line with the Australian Counselling Association Code of Ethics and Practice. Counselling and wellbeing services do not involve diagnosis or medical treatment. Animal-assisted therapy is offered only where appropriate and with informed consent. Therapy dog participation is optional and guided by individual needs. Child safety, professional boundaries, and confidentiality are prioritised at all times.

    All services are delivered by an ACA-registered counsellor, informed by child development principles, ethical practice, and a strong understanding of school and community settings.

    Written parent/carer consent is required for all child and young person services. Informed consent is obtained prior to animal-assisted therapy participation. Therapy dog involvement is optional and may be reviewed or withdrawn at any time.

  • Referrals are welcome from parents and carers, schools and educators and allied health professionals and organisations. Referrals can be made via email or contact form. For school or organisational referrals, a brief consultation may be required to clarify goals and suitability.

  • All services are delivered in accordance with the Australian Counselling Association Code of Ethics, using child-centred and trauma-informed practice. Professional boundaries are maintained at all times, with the wellbeing of both participants and the therapy dog carefully prioritised.

  • Payment is generally required at the time of booking unless another arrangement has been discussed. If you need to cancel or reschedule, at least 48 hours’ notice is appreciated, as cancellations made within 48 hours may incur the full session fee. Group bookings and school or workplace visits may require a deposit. Fees reflect professional qualifications, experience, insurance, and ethical practice in line with the Australian Counselling Association Code of Ethics.
